Alicante, Málaga and Valencia bring to record values the purchase of housing on the Spanish coast
Alicante, Málaga and Valencia total 281 operations per day, the highest level since 2009.
If there is a symptom that evidences the progressive recovery of the confidence on the part of the middle class is the purchase and sale of houses. In the heat of economic recovery, the improvement of credit and the lack of interesting investment alternatives for low interest rates, the number of transactions continues to increase at a rate of 19% throughout the country with special strength in large cities such as Madrid Or Barcelona and in the coastal areas.
It is the stamp of the economic recovery in the summer of 2017: tourists examining the windows of the increasing number of real estate that have resurfaced in the municipalities near the coast in search of a second residence or summer house. This situation has become especially relevant in the provinces of Alicante, Málaga and Valencia, the three regions where more houses are sold per day if the two large capitals of the country are excluded.
In the case of Alicante, a total of 3,052 houses were sold in June alone, according to figures published yesterday by the National Statistics Institute (INE). In this province are located some of the cities that more visitors receive each summer, among them Benidorm, Guardamar, Denia, Torrevieja, Moraira Calpe. The pace of sale is 101 houses each day, something unknown since 2008.
Alicante, like Valencia - the third coastal province in the ranking of houses sold - adds two circumstances that explain in part the large number of operations recorded: its proximity to large urban centers such as Madrid and its periphery, and a price Average per square meter of 1,092 euros, lower according to the appraiser Tinsa to the registered in other regions with beach of the country. Another factor that drives transactions is the growing presence of foreign buyers, who last year recorded a record 13.25% already representing the total of operations. In 2009 the same figure was reduced to 4%, three times less. The five most buyers are UK, France, Germany, Sweden and Belgium. The Balearic and Canary Islands archipelagos, in addition to the Valencia Community, are the three regions most chosen by these tourists to acquire their homes.
