The purchase and sale of housing rose 19.3% in June in relation to the same month of 2016, adding up to 44,135 operations, its highest figure since February 2011, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) .
With May's year-on-year increase, home buying and selling adds two consecutive months to the upside after it rebounded 23% in May and achieved its highest transaction figure since February 2011.
Transactions on used homes increased by 19.2% in June compared to the same month in 2016, to a total of 36,236, while the purchase of new homes increased by 19.8% year-on-year to 7,899 transactions.
Last June, the largest number of housing sales per 100,000 inhabitants occurred in Baleares (165), Comunidad Valenciana (159) and Community of Madrid (144).
