The price of housing increased by 2.7% in March 2017

The cumulative fall from highs declines from 40% for the first time since June 2014 and stands at 39.4%.

In March, the price of housing increased by 2.7%, according to the Tinsa IMIE General and Grandes Mercados index. By area, the main increases occurred in the Balearic and Canary Islands, which recorded increases of 7%, as well as in the capitals and large cities of the country, where average increases of 5.5% were produced.

The Mediterranean coast accumulates a fall of prices of about 45% after the crises.

As for the behavior experienced by the Mediterranean coast, in these localities the average price of housing rose in March by 1.9%. Tinsa points out that, for the first time in nearly three years, the cumulative decline in finished housing compared to the highs reached at the end of 2007 is below 40%. The Mediterranean coast is the area with the largest drop, 45.5%. At the opposite end are the islands, where this indicator has been reduced by 24.2%.
